Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the GoConfi app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy is a separate document and is incorporated into these terms by reference. We have kept the language plain on purpose; where a term has a specific legal meaning, the legal meaning applies.

1. About GoConfi

GoConfi (“GoConfi”, “we”, “us”) is a personal-finance app for people living in Europe. You enter your monthly plan (income, bills, budgets, savings goals) and GoConfi builds each month from it, lets you log spending by scanning receipts, and shows you where you stand in plain language. GoConfi is operated by Wided Othman from Mannheim, Germany (see the Impressum).

2. A young app

GoConfi is new and keeps growing. Features may change or be removed, and we may migrate data where needed to fix problems. We will tell you before doing anything that affects your budget. GoConfi is free to use for now.

3. Your account

• You need an account to use the app. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Google or Apple. Sign-in is handled by our provider, Clerk; we never see your password.
• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account → Delete account). This permanently erases your data, as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your data and your content

• The budget information and receipts you enter remain yours. You give us permission to process them only as needed to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
• Only upload receipts and documents that are yours or that you are allowed to use.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. GoConfi computes from your numbers; it cannot check them against reality.

5. Not financial, tax, or legal advice

GoConfi organises and explains the numbers you give it. Nothing in the app, including the Clarity score, insights, and monthly summaries, is financial, tax, investment, or legal advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional.

6. AI features

Receipt reading and the monthly summary use an AI model. The model reads receipts and rephrases figures we have already computed; it is instructed not to invent numbers. AI can still make mistakes, such as a misread amount or a wrong category. Review what the app logs, and correct it in the app when it is wrong. We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of an AI output you did not check.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use GoConfi for anything unlawful; do not attempt to access other people’s accounts or data; do not interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or place an unreasonable load on it; do not reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law permits.

8. Intellectual property

The app, website, design, text, and code are ours or our licensors’. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for managing your own money. You may not copy, resell, or build on it without our written permission. Your own data is not covered by this section; it stays yours (section 4).

9. Availability, changes, and termination

• We aim to keep GoConfi available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
• We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You may close your account at any time.

10. Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under mandatory product-liability law. For other damage caused by ordinary negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual duty (one whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible at all), and then only for typical, foreseeable damage. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of that country. We are not obliged and do not undertake to participate in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.

12. Severability

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest remains in force. The invalid part is replaced by what comes closest to its purpose within the law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you which version applies. For material changes we notify you in the app, and you can end the agreement by deleting your account if you do not agree.
